The ephemeris.
The Instrument does not intuit an Art. It does not sense energy, interpret feelings, or consult an oracle. Birth data resolves into ten planetary positions. Those positions yield forty-five unique body pairs. Five aspect classes are measured against a strict tight-first protocol. The first unique leader decides the result.

01 / FROM BIRTH DATA TO COORDINATE · THE INPUT CHAIN
DATE · EXACT LOCAL TIME · GEOGRAPHIC COORDINATESThe calculation begins with three empirical inputs: calendar date, exact recorded local time, and birthplace. The location resolves the latitude, longitude, and historical time zone required to convert civil time into an exact universal instant. The astronomical ephemeris then pulls the precise ecliptic longitude of each governed body at that moment.
Calculation accuracy is bound to input precision. If a birth time is recorded with uncertainty, the Instrument flags the result as time-sensitive or data-limited. That flag measures confidence in the source record. It does not produce a degraded Art.

EVERY UNIQUE PAIR EVALUATED ONCEThe planetary field is fixed: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Ten bodies generate forty-five unique, unordered pairs. The Instrument measures each pair once. Inverting the sequence does not create a second contact.
All secondary astrological variables are structurally excluded:
Zodiac signs and astrological houses.
Chart angles: Ascendant, Midheaven, IC, and Descendant.
Calculated points and lots: Lunar Nodes and Part of Fortune.
Minor bodies, asteroids, and hypothetical points: Chiron, Lilith, and Uranian points.
The exclusion is deliberate and total. It prevents ambient chart noise from distorting the aspectual balance sheet.
03 / ANGULAR SEPARATION · FIVE ELIGIBLE RELATIONS
THE GEOMETRY OF THE FIVE ARTSFor each pair of bodies, the Instrument calculates the shortest arc of separation across the 360° ecliptic. It measures that arc against five classical angles. The difference between the actual separation and the exact angle is the orb.
Conjunction · 0°: The operative office of the Alchemist.
Sextile · 60°: The operative office of the Artificer.
Square · 90°: The operative office of the Forgemaster.
Trine · 120°: The operative office of the Vessel.
Opposition · 180°: The operative office of the Mirrorwalker.
A pair registers only when its separation falls within the active orb threshold. Because each geometric threshold is mutually exclusive, no body pair can cast a double vote.

PRIMARY THRESHOLD: 0° TO 2° · ABSOLUTE CEILING: 5°Initial count. The Instrument registers every eligible aspect with an orb between 0°00′ and 2°00′. It totals conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions independently.
The first stop. If a single aspect class holds the highest nonzero count, the calculation ceases immediately. Wider orbs are never consulted once a narrower band resolves the architecture.
Cumulative expansion. If no aspect qualifies, or if two or more classes tie for the lead, the threshold expands to 3°00′. The count recalculates across the complete 0°–3° spectrum, retaining the tighter contacts. If unresolved, the protocol expands to 4°00′, then to a terminal limit of 5°00′.
Decisive resolution. The earliest threshold that produces a unique leader determines the Art. An Art resolved at a 5° orb is not weaker than one resolved at 1°. The resolving orb measures where the geometry became decisive: it is an index of clarity, not a measure of personal potency.

DUAL · TIED · INDETERMINATEWhen an architecture resists a single classification under the governed rules, the Instrument documents the state directly:
Dual preponderance: Two aspect classes remain locked for the highest count at the 5° terminal threshold.
Tied signature: Three or more aspect classes remain level at the terminal threshold.
Indeterminate: No aspect pair falls within the 5° limit across the entire forty-five-pair field.
These are valid structural configurations, not system errors to be massaged away. The Instrument does not promote a runner-up, extend orbs beyond 5°, or force a chart into an arbitrary Art to provide a convenient answer.
06 / CALCULATION AND INTERPRETATION · HELD SEPARATE
PREPONDERANCE IS CALCULATED · THE ART IS INTERPRETEDThe Instrument performs pure arithmetic: it measures geometric distribution among five aspect classes. Abundanosa interprets that geometric preponderance as an operational seat of authority within the wealth framework. The number is mathematics; the causal application is the doctrine of this house.
This protocol governs Tier 1: the automated calculation of Art preponderance.
Tier 2 is a separate, authored diagnostic audit. It inspects the major aspects formed by the four classical wealth significators, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn, against the ten-body field. It adds tactical density to the operating profile. It cannot overturn or vote again on the primary Art.
